How Willing Are You?

Isaiah 1:19, 20.

Verse 19: If ye be wiling and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.

Verse 20: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

How willing are you? Take a minute to examine and think through your commitment to the Lord. How willing are you is a good question. But, since we are human we must also think about: When are you willing? Is it just when you want to? Just when people are watching. Where?? Yes…..where would you follow your beloved King. Would you follow him through a terrible storm knowing that He has already won the victory for you in His suffering on the cross?

In verses 19 and 20 Isaiah is talking about following God, and being obedient unconditionally, no matter what this world throws at you. Our God is a God that keeps his promises. He will supply all of our needs, not necessarily our wants. He will supply you with strength to make it through any crisis. He will be with you and walk through the fire with you.

Asking, “Why me?” Blaming and lashing out at others when the hard times come only increases our difficulties. Using other coping strategies such as addictions also leads to increased difficulties in our life. You don’t have to go through challenges in life alone. There is a new habit we can get into. It is borrowing God’s strength consistently when you need it. Ask him for wisdom. Ask him for strength. He can give joy in the midst of the toughest struggle. Ask him. He is there. He loves you and knows you.

Are you saved? Have you asked Jesus to come into your heart and cleanse you of your sins? He can save you eternally and promise you that you will be with him when you die. This is the starting point for a relationship that is so pure and filled with divine love. If you have never experienced this before I invite you to start talking to the King, the only one who can save. It is that simple. Talk to him wherever you are. Hear his word, his invitation to come to him. Earnestly Confess you sins to him and repent. He will remove your sins as far as the east is from the west. Stand up tall and walk with the King. You will be a child of God! Just think of it. Never alone. Find a Scriptural Bible believing church with other believers. Share your newfound relationship with the Holy Father and rejoice with your new church family.

In verse 20 God says, ” if you are willing and obedient you shall eat of the good of the land!” God keeps his promises.
