I Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
I Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.
The Bible and the message of salvation that it presents are talked about in many circles. In college classrooms, in private discussions among friends, on you tube, and the list goes on and on. There are many opinions on the gospel message of salvation. Some say it is a foolish fairytale. Some say it is nice because it promotes peace on earth and good things in the world, but all the while steer clear of accepting Jesus as their personal Savior. Some say it is just too hard to accept Jesus because they cannot change and be good enough to present themselves to Jesus.
The truth is, foolish people push God away. They think it is so hard, but it is easy because, “unto us is the power of God”. Hmmm! What does that mean? It means that God excepts you as you come to him just as you are. After we accept his gift of grace (Salvation) He gives us the power and strength to make changes in our lives that will put us on a safe path. On this path, we can use the tools God gives us to stay clear of the kind of past coping strategies that are temporary and dwindle into misery down the road.
Have you felt betrayed? Forgotten? Unloved? Alone? WE all feel this way at times. It is human to search for what we need to nourish our soul. God gives us power in our darkest hours. It is easy to accept Him because he takes us as we are, and he gives us unconditional love. He nourishes our spirit with the milk of the word. And then when we are ready, the meat of the word. It is a process, because He knows we are human and he loves us. He created us for a personal relationship with him. His hand is reaching down to you.
We need to be willing to step out in faith and believe that our loving Father in heaven can do all that he said he will do. He can save us for all eternity. We can know where we will go when we die. We can know that our Holy Father in heaven will walk by our side with us through this life even when it turns dark and stormy all around.
Once you accept Jesus ( Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and Thou Shalt be saved) and profess him as your Savior you will be able to trust the Lord in all things. You will be able to stay in prayer with him and talk to him every day about everything that is happening in your life. You can feed on God’s word and feel him leading and guiding you into a life here on earth that is grounded in His love, His compassion, His hope, You will be able to stay close to him and feel his presence. Think of it! Walking every day with the King! Talking everyday with the King! Borrowing the strength, wisdom, and power of the King as you come to him and humbly ask.
If you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, that is worth more than all of the knowledge in the world. It is worth more than all of the money in the world and all of the prestige in the world.
It is your choice how you experience this life. If you are constantly negative your life will be negative You could look at all of the awful stuff that could happen or has happened and run the “awfulsizer” or you could rely on God. Look for that “Great Hope” It is there. Look to God to get you through all of these things.
Pray to the Lord. He can give you power to be content and have peace of mind even when you are dealing with very difficult circumstances. We don’t have to walk through this life yelling, “The sky is falling, the sky is falling”. Follow Him in all things and trust Him in all situations. The arm of flesh will fail you, but our powerful God never will.
