Upon Arrival
What To Expect
New to Desert Rose Baptist Church?
Come as you are...
We are delighted that you are considering a visit to Desert Rose Baptist Church. You can expect a warm, genuine atmosphere. Be sure to arrive a little early to meet our friendly church family.
“Come as you are” doesn’t just refer to how you choose to dress. It also refers to where you are emotionally and spiritually. At Desert Rose Baptist Church, you will find people who don’t have life completely figured out. You will find people who are struggling and brokenhearted. You will find those who know Jesus, as well as those who are searching for answers.
Following a time of musical worship, Pastor Tom provides a Biblical teaching that reaches many right where they find themselves both spiritually and emotionally.
Pastor Tom’s messages proclaim “God’s Inspired and perfect Word” in a format that is not a “sit and get sermon”. Attendees are welcome to interact during the sermon.
Pastor Tom purposefully pauses during the sermon to provide time for members to give input or to offer connections they are making, as they hear God’s Word. Connections to other scripture verses—or “light-bulbs” as we call them—are encouraged. Light-bulbs are when someone provides something from the shared text that God has brought to their attention and why that scripture is so important to their life.
Embedded in our sermon time is a 5-to-7-minute segment for children ages 2 – 9. We invite our youngest attendees to come to the front with the Pastor or youth leader. Our children participate in a quick Bible Story and finish with an action song. Old and young alike find that segment of the service to be a huge smile booster.
Circle Time
Immediately following Pastor Tom’s teaching, we engage in Circle Time. Circle Time is a very casual setting where attendees are given an opportunity to share what God is doing in their life, to share areas they hope to see God act and to how He has moved in profound ways.
Come as you are!
Once again, we look forward to meeting you.
